You will not do any firm initiatives or BD work.
Agree with others, PDM is great for WLB and job security (usually very long lasting contracts). If you build client relationships and become essential then easy to renegotiate comp and get approvals to move to LCOL city. $140k for Specialist + yearly bonus is pretty great. In summary great stepping stone opportunity to add the brand and experience to your resume.
For short term should be good as a stepping stone. Be aware though that PDM has MUCH stricter rules relating to staffing since you are hired for certain projects. I believe you can only be unstaffed for like 2 weeks or something like that (Other Deloitte folks correct me if that is wrong).
PDM is great for short term situations like you describe. Raises and promotions are definitely available, but not as rapidly as you would expect in other consulting environments. Not an issue if you’re leaving in a year!
