Hi I am having some trouble on choosing between Deloitte and PwC for a 2022 winter internship. Some pros for Deloitte include being the largest firm, and the promotion to senior being 2 years opposed to 3 at PwC. Additionally, Deloitte offers a pension and has Deloitte university. The pros of PwC include a gym in the office and a younger work force. They also give me much less of a “corporate” feel and seem to offer more flexibility. I’m wondering if anyone could give me any advice on deciding?

Ex-kpmg employee here so can’t post in that bowl but does anyone here know how pension plan works? I was vested based on time with firm but does the money stay there til retirement or can you request lump sum payout and invest it how you want? Thanks!

How do I max out my 2020 401k contribution of $19.5k before it ends (does it end 12/31/20)? I wasn’t tracking my contribution rate before but now I realized I can definitely put in a lot more but if it’s pay check to pay check contribution, I won’t be able to max out by year end since not many weeks left to the year to make up.... can I drop a lump sum somehow to max out and reach $19.5k?

My wife makes 112k and I make 70k in NYC. She plans to go to law school in 18 months. She is very smart and so I believe she will get a scholarship. But assuming worst case scenario, we will take on debt to pay tuition (180k). My question is should we still fund our Roth 401k this year as we have in the past or stop funding it to save for Law school to decrease student loans? I believe post law school she will make 200k (big law) and I should be at around 100k.

Received MBB offer, which I’m very grateful for. I have a medical degree with some work experience. I want to stay in healthcare. I like pharma/biotech, provider systems but also early stage healthcare investing. Certainly open to consulting long term. Few Qs: is the promotion pipeline any different for advanced degree folks? What sort of exit opps would be available to someone like me post MBB? Would my skill set/knowledge base be uniquely sought after, or not really? Thank you for your help!

Hi Fishies, I got paid on a 1099 for one job and want to put it in a 401k fund to avoid paying taxes. When is the deadline to do that? End of 2019 or before end of financial year? TYSM!

Recently accepted an offer but I got another one later on with better pay and benefits for the same job. How common is for people to withdraw from accepted offers and how do you address it? Will that affect possibilities to move to that company in the future?
