Deloitte started my green card process in 2019. Went through prevailing wage last September, then they paused the process I guess due to covid and political reasons. I checked last month and it’s still on a pause. My 6 year H1B is up in 2023. Any suggestions on what to do next or anyone know how long the pause usually last? I am from China mainland. Thank you

The mid-size firm I’m currently at has been very flexible during covid but I’m looking to change firm (biglaw). Since my family is abroad I find it extremely valuable to be able to do this (I did this even before covid for a couple of weeks, twice a year). I’ve heard firms like Latham and Paul Weiss don’t allow it for tax reasons.

Anyone make manager during covid? Is being a manager just extremely hard, or is covid playing a big part? I knew being a manager was a lot of work but this is next level.

I realized recently that I can turn my “super associate” persona at any time. I had it off during covid when my kids needed me and got a bad review. So now it’s back on. I’m responding to midnight emails (and daytime ones in under 20 minutes) and getting work done the same morning. I’m spending countless hours doing edits over edits. I actually don’t like super associate. Why do people live like this 24/7?!? 🤔
