It’s called “stringing folks along”. And then recruiters complain about getting ignored by potential hires. HA!
Guidehouse is S**show
Someone I referred is in the same boat. I don’t get it
Nope I got offer on interview day. It’s not at the level I wanted but I got an offer nonetheless.
It’s called contingent recruiting
It seems a temporary, nevertheless disappointing, issue with the recruiting team since the transition. (It should improve in the next month or so!). To the person who mentioned an on the spot offer, that is the result of a "hiring day," not everyone's interview process leads to that. My recommendation would be to follow-up with a director or partner or at the very least a manager you interviewed with who can provide the "heat" needed to make your hiring a priority. The other possibility is mentioned above via reference to contingent hiring where they proactively interview candidates for roles on future contracts. Either way, be tenacious and follow up!
Ugh...frustrating to keep hearing this. Agree with above in that we are experiencing some issues with HR/recruitment but thats not an excuse and I hate to think we may be missing out on hiring strong talent or scaring people away. Keep following up or reach out to any team members if you interviewed with them and have contact info.
Thanks for the help guidehouse folks! Would anyone be willing to reach out on the internal side for me? Would be really appreciate of it!!!
OP, what team did you interview with?
SA1, I pm’d you.
Actually SA1 I couldn’t pm you. I interviewed for a program delivery manager position. If you have burner and I could you send more details. Thank you so much!!!
OP, shoot it to GHburner2018@gmail.com
There could be a lot of reasons for the delay... sometimes it is because an award is taking a long time, other times it is because they are making staffing changes to a team that can take a while, and sometimes, the team might be on the fece about a candidate. Follow up with the manager or director that interviewed you and they should be able to give you more info. You could also say that you are looking to a make a decision in the next week and you need an anwser, but you will have to be prepared to walk away
