Can someone explain the benefit of whole life or similar products? I understand that they are bad for 99.9% of people. How does the 0.1% benefit? Taxes? Asset protection?

I'm struggling to understand why anyone would use these at all. Significantly caps your upside. If you are uber wealthy, why wouldn't you continue investing in the market? Why pay the crazy fees for these products that are essentially just 90% treasury bonds and 10% levered ETFs and covered calls?

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Fellow P&T Directors - here’s a thread for us to discuss what we are hearing/not hearing with regards to PCLDE and the making of new partners in P&T.

On every call, we hear Joe talk about making new Partners and his commitment. I have yet to see any of those ‘commitments’ be reflected in actions or explanations. (eg. No senior directors from commercial GTM going into PCLDE this year …) What?

Do they really think we’re going to ‘stick around’ until they ‘figure it out’ …

P&T AMA is mainly people asking softballs and wishing Joe happy birthday. While I do wish Joe a happy birthday as well, I'd love to see a more candid AMA... perhaps on this bowl, where people can ask what's REALLY on their minds without having to put their name to it? I have to admit that I wasn't terribly impressed by the virtual Co-Lo for Digital. The exception to that, though, was David's insightful comment that leadership knows and expects that many of us are struggling to come back from the pandemic, and it's okay to ask for help and or take a leave. Digital culture, and how we are real and take care of each other, is just AMAZING. That speech alone made me so proud to be here and turned around a lot of my negative thoughts.

I know the deadline for snapshots was 11/1. Has anyone heard when we may be hearing of results? I’m assuming later December but I’ve gotten a few hints I’ll have a strong case for SA.
