Do firms generally pro-rate billable hours required for a bonus if you take parental leave? Or does it completely depend on the firm?

Ropes - prorated hours full bonus

like

Very impressive.

Never heard of a firm not prorating hours for bonus eligibility. However, I think most will prorate the bonus accordingly.

My law firm’s policy adjusted the minimum billable hours for bonus eligibility to account for parental leave.

like

Same here. Not sure about whether the bonus is prorated.

Hi everyone. It’s promotions season for my team 🙌🏼 and trying to work with HR to field the market for comp rates. Any guidance on senior CSM roles today, comp + bonus at a company size of 60 people? Role is based in San Francisco. Thanks in advance!

Is anyone wary of non-lockstep compensation? I interviewed at a firm recently and they explained their discretionary comp structure as a very rigorous and time consuming exercise that takes into account feedback from every partner and other factors that they didn't really identify. I asked associates if they thought this process disadvantages minorities and their answer was that they felt properly compensated. The candidate was too stunned to speak. Jk but the answers really confused me

I’m an IP associate (focused mainly on trademarks) in an AMLaw 200 firm (slightly below NY market pay) and I’m curious to know what IP groups (mainly trademark related practices) at V50 firms are like. My practice is relatively chill. No major fires to put out - steady and predictable 8-9 billable hours a day. I can generally not work on weekends. Am I at a unicorn shop or is this normal for Trademark practices?
