Do I have to remove all my tattoos if I want to be accepted into boot camp? I have two on either upper arm and one on my back.

You don't have to remove all your tattoos to be accepted into boot camp. I actually have three tattoos myself and I was able to join the military. As long as your tattoos are not offensive or inappropriate, you should have no problem getting accepted. Just remember to take care of your tattoos properly and to wear clothing that covers them when necessary.

You don't have to remove them. Just ensure they are documented on the tattoo form. Better to have a clean conscience and not have to constantly be looking over your shoulder in case it becomes an issue. You and your recruiter will sign the form and it is forwarded to the recruiting station operations officer for their signature, and that's it. If you show up to Boot camp and they find an undocumented tattoo, then you can be sent home and discharged.

As far as I know, nothing on the head, neck, face, or hands is allowed. No racist, sexist, extremist, gang-related.. If you’re attempting to join, don’t get any new tattoos as it could delay the process.

Does it have any bad meaning or part of some gang or potentially could be seen as gang-related? If the answers are no and yes then work with the recruiter to submit for a waiver and it would most likely be approved, about 85% certain based on all the tattoos I have seen submitted.

Navy recruiter here. The short answer is “no”. The longer answer is that content and location matter. Like others have mentioned, they must be in good taste and not be gang related, drug related, offensive, etc. Each service also has its own requirements as far as location goes. The Navy, for instance l, allows arm, hand and neck tattoos. But yes, all tattoos require a waiver signed by the Commanding Officer of said local service affiliate, which I’ve never seen get denied.

As long as it's not on your neck and hands you are good

Even this is being waived for Navy recruits. Hand tattoos are authorized but neck isn't. Right now they are giving waivers for neck tats

No. Especially with the strain for new recruits right now. They will waive almost anything as long as it's not in bad taste.
