A soulmate and forever partner are two different things.
I plan on being with my wife forever. She's amazing and we get along incredibly well and share values. Do I think she's my soulmate? No, because the idea of a soulmate is inherently ridiculous.
The idea that there's only one person who's perfect for you and one person who you're destined to share your life with doesn't make any sense. There are ~7 billion people in the world. Assume a 50/50 gender split for whatever you're into, so about 3.5 billion people. Out of that many people, there's only 1 person you should be with and I happened to meet that person in my high school in my home town through a mutual friend? Ridiculous
The odds are astronomically low, so from a logical perspective, there's no such thing as a soulmate.
Fair! I manage finances, not Rom-Coms 😄
I don't believe there's a single person preordained to us by the universe and if we don't find or end up with that person wear condemned to a lifetime of lesser love and failed relationships.
But we are highly social creatures who have a strong tendency to influenced by the people we spend the most time with, and when two people make the choice to grow together the effect is largely not meaningfully different than a "soul mate".

I’m Catholic so that’s a no for me.

I believe that you can have multiple soul mates.
Also believe that multiple bodies can link to a single soul.
From personal experience.
Everybody has their own journey. For some, yes. For others, multiple partners at different periods who have had a profound impact on their lives at a soul level. For others, none because different aspects of their lives will be more important than romantic relationships
I don’t believe in fairytales & Disney. Plus 99% of all relationships end in tragedy.
99% of ALL relationships end in tragedy? Wow that's a bleak view. I don't really have a comeback for that. Hope you find (or have found) happiness!
I think you choose your soulmate, forever partner, whatever you want to call your partner, lol.
You don't actually know if you'll be with them forever, but that is usually the goal initially if you both want things to work. Anyway, shit happens, and sometimes, even those relationships end.
You see, committing to someone is a choice, and so is ending a relationship. So there is no destined partner for you. It's just based on your choices. Whether you choose someone for life or for a short time. 🤷♀️
