Do people think big 4 AAS will see layoffs with looming recession? At the senior level?

Gonna join PwC M&A tax. What would be the market like if there’s another financial crisis (hopefully not). Are we the people who will be laid off first? Or we will be pulled to do tax compliance? Thanks.

Hi fishies! Considering an internal big 4 move from Western Europe to Dubai. Not sure about WLB and whether there’ll be enough growth and learning opportunities after reading some of the threads here. Anyone up for sharing their experience? Especially concerned about sexism / racism as a WOC…and whether moving back to Europe in a few years will be difficult because the ME experience won’t be considered valuable.

I was on a partner/manager call today and they were discussing the “high” turnover at the senior and experienced associate level. What was shocking is that while ours is about double normal, evidently we are 3 out of 4 in turnover meaning 2 of the Big 4 are even higher.

Got promoted for L4 , SIM has been raised for me. Manager and L5 approvals given. HM said its in process and will take sometime. Can someone tell me how long will this process take. Its already been 2 weeks and didn’t get any mail.

So I get that in a corporate set up, you are supposed to be sharp and witty and think on your feet. Trouble is, I am extremely slow with comebacks. (Think Ross in Friends/Amy in B99) at the crunch moment, I generally end up not being able to give a good roast back. Unfortunately the best of them come to me like a few hours later (dinner/shower/TV) and I am left ruing and amazing opportunity to have gotten one back. I am awful at jibes and roasts.
