Either things will work out, or they won’t. But worrying about things that are beyond your control is not helpful.
Some people can do that, and some can't, and it's dismissive to tell anyone to "stop worrying about things you can't control." It may not be "helpful" to worry, but it's absolutely normal and human. I mean, I'm a senior soon to retire, and you'd better believe I'm worried about how things will be for me when I retire, given the current US economy, leadership, world standing, healthcare (since the current administration is cutting Medicare benefits), all of the s**t that is happening right now. And my husband and I have about $2 million in net worth -- so how do you think people who have been unable to save that much are feeling?

My advice is to get really good at using AI. Those machines still need people behind them to operate. Future businesses will be defined by how well they use AI. Make sure you are one of their most prized tools.
IF that happens. You will adapt.
I don’t think it will go down that way though. I support HR from an IT perspective. I’ve never met an HR person that didn’t have too much on their plate, or too many people to support. Ideally AI helps make your job more manageable, and allows you to better care for your people.
lol what future? Pretty sure mass depopulation via indirect genocide is 5 years away.
My late millennial son just glibly says "I give humanity about five years." Between our insistence on killing everyone different from us and the way we've treated our home planet, I don't think he's far off. Mother Earth will survive, but the worst species of all that ever roamed this planet won't, and that's not a bad thing.
Not really, but I'm more than just HR so there are avenues to pursue even if HR became 100% LLM. But, to be fair, I also don't actually believe HR will become 100% LLM. I don't think much of anything will ever become 100% LLM, but it's the myth that will be perpetuated to keep the market intact.
I have felt this too at times. The uncertainty can get overwhelming. I try to focus on what I can control, otherwise it spirals quickly.
I guess don't worry too much.
