Do you ever share your salary with anyone other than spouse/SO? As in other family members, close friends, coworkers who you’re friends/close with?

Yes - not outright, but when the situation comes up. I’ve found that a lot of my peers have found it helpful when negotiating a promotion or new job salary. If you’re not aware of what your peers with similar skill and work ethic are making, how will you know if you’re underpaid? The more information you have, the better capable you are of directing your career growth.

Not usually. I was in a group and we were doing goal setting and I told them I thought I’d make $1M/year in five years. I think that was a mistake, but it’s not the end of the world
