Do you know of anyone who's been able to use their consulting skillset to advise humanitarian aid organizations or their crisis responses? Would these organizations even need our skills, or is the field too saturated already? How much experience do we need to have before we can help out? (I'd hope that we can at least help out grassroots efforts early on.)

What's the market these days for someone with not-great technical skills, 12 YOE, TS clearance, hard-to-find/unique skillset, elite masters, middle management in DoD contracting, experience with critical/high profile roles?

I'm thinking 120-135k would be bad/mediocre, 180-195k would be possible/a stretch, and 160-170k would be doable/realistic. Thoughts? Not interested in Deloitte.

I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.
