Any time we or our guests have come from travel we notice it. We have a rules in the house that we’d like to think help ( a lot or purell, Lysol, and now ride-antibacterial spray)
- jackets don’t go past the mud room/ entry way. 1x we spray them with tide anti-bacterial/ Lysol (if just traveled on a plane, train, etc. we do it then)
- no shoes in the house
- must change when we get home (we don’t let the kids play in the playroom with clothes from daycare— they take them off of change)... especially pants since you sit on public seats a lot. If you have been on an airplane, shower before touching the kids (especially hair since that touched headrests)
- purell wipe down of computer and phone 1-2x per week (immediately after traveling)
- Lysol or Tide spray our office bags regularly
- we Lysol our couch and carpets 1x a week at least too (I have young kids and they are on the floor a lot so it’s worth it)
- suitcases get unpacked ASAP and put away from public areas
SF 1 - thanks for sharing! Do you find it has made a noticeable difference? Or have you always kept this careful approach?
I grew up as a child with a similar level of germ control, but somehow still remember being sick a lot.
Since the kids we’ve been pretty good. That said, there are lazy weeks/ behaviors and after one of those some usually gets sick... so it’s likely helping.
