Hello all! I am an ophthalmic technician in Orlando FL with 10 years of experience across many specialties including refractive surgery, retina and glaucoma. I was a scrub tech for 2 years and I have set up an entire practice from the ground up (entire OR and all diagnostic equipment, hiring and training staff, etc.) I am currently making $25/hour but I feel like with my experience I should be making more. Ever overseen/managed someone who is basically a peer? They seem open to feedback when I give it in person, but always do the bare minimum/look to other people who aren’t even on the project day to day to give approvals even though I’m their project lead. Trying to keep the relationship friendly and collaborative, but their lack of relevant experience and willingness to follow my direction is forcing me to do a lot of rework and eating into my time. I’m going to be able to purchase a novel for each grade level, 9-12, this coming school year. I’m looking for suggestions. What I have available currently is pretty dated and my own personal affinity is for the more classical novels, so I was hoping to find some more modern ideas that my kids may relate to easier.
