Does anyone bring a portable monitor when they travel? If so, any recommendations? I'd really like to have a second screen when I travel, but hoping to find something fairly light and compact.

I love my SideTrak Swivel Pro. It attaches to your computer with a magnet, so you can even use it on the couch etc. A little pricy but has been worth every penny to me

I love SideTrak. I upgraded mine this year to a 15” one and cannot recommend it enough.

I got a cheap one on Amazon and it’s fine

I have a xebec thing that attaches to my laptop and two screens fold out on either side

Pros: three screens on the go is great. I really like it. Just a single usb c connection and bam you’re in business.

Cons: somewhat heavy, somewhat bulky, and you look like a hardo in the airport lounge

I have a Lenovo ThinkVision portable monitor. It’s great and travels very well.

Same. Matches laptop. Probably a cheaper knock off out there but I didn’t want the drama of trying out others just to save a bit.

There are those that clasp onto your laptop monitor unfold into 2 additional monitors so you end up having 3 monitors. I'm sorry I'm blanking on names/brands but I feel they should be relatively easily searchable on Google

These are really heavy and i then can’t use a laptop riser to bring the whole set up to eye level! I’ve worked around it by stacking it on a pile of books. But i actually just bought a SOTSU to test out though it is pricey. Tern also looks good.

Hi boys & girls!

Joined a big firm (Big4) not long a go and starting to feel like I got a good grip on my current work.

I've always been very technical, so I think that the only thing I am missing now is making sales. (I really wanna make partner)

Can any seasoned lawyer share tips and materials (i.e. books) which can help?

Would it be a good idea to join a Social Club where potential clients spend time? (gym/tennis/paddel/events)

Any advice welcome!

Tips for bankruptcy associates who eventually want to move in-house? 3rd year associate in bankruptcy/restructuring group doing mainly bk lit but a few deals too. Need to stay in BL for at least another year for the money, but eventually want to move in-house. First year trainee here. Having the standard wobbles but generally surviving.

My question is - how can I tell if I'm doing well? More specifically, what common and avoidable mistakes (specific or general) do trainees make, and what attitude or actions impress you?

Recently overheard some associates complaining about another trainee and now I have the fear... I want to get this right. Thanks in advance.
