Hi.
A curious case regarding interview at Amazon.
There is a particular opening to which I did not apply.
Got an email saying they want to interview me, with slot options.
I selected slot options and then I got an email for an interview with one of their employees.
Email is from hire_the_best@email.amazon.com
Have tried reaching out to the mentioned employee as well on LinkedIn to check if it is genuine - but haven't received any response.
Have observed this to be a fake incidence in the past.
What say?

I had an interview with Cognizant and then got an email from HR to fill in CIS form and also along with to send all the documents. After i send all those details i got an email saying the position went on hold and to wait until they revert.
Any idea that how much time it would take for the position to be released? They did not respond when i asked the same question.

I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

Start writing down the questions they ask so you can review after interviews.
Also yes, I had to basically learn from previous interviews a bunch until I had one interview that went well for me.
Recruiters are now using AI note takers in some companies so I assume we can too. 👀
One quick note on your comment about AI note takers. Recruiters need to share up front that they are using those tools and provide an opt-out option. The same goes for candidates.
I personally don't use AI note takers. I recently conducted a video interview with a candidate who had "invited" an AI note taker to the meeting. Because I controlled access to the meeting, I declined the AI note taker and let the candidate know I had done so.
Everyone will have a different take on this technology and on my approach and I respect that. It is only my personal opinion that I choose not to use them. However, being given the option to use/not use them is paramount.
No one wants to be recorded in secret and in some cases, it is actually illegal to do so.
I'm in that same boat. Something I've found helpful may sound a bit antiquated but has worked really well for me is buying a physical notebook to use for interview prep. I prep for the interview by researching the company and the people I'll be speaking with and writing down specific notes on each. I then write notes on various things I've done throughout my career that are likely to help in answering questions. I bring the notebook to the interview, but I do review it the night before and morning of.
There's research out there that suggests physically writing things down helps you to better remember them. Additionally, I've found that if I'm stumped in an interview, acknowledge as much to the interview and then ask if they mind if I check my notes, they not only always say yes but the interview gets better from there because I've just shown them that I came prepared.
This might not work for everyone, but it's worked really well for me. YMMV

If drawing a blank, take a tip from politicians and just go off on a detailed, but totally unrelated and tangential to the question, rant.
Be sure to include how great you are!
