Does anyone have a recommendation for a product that helps with potential carpal tunnel? I realize we don’t always work in the most ergonomic environments and I need something to help, esp. w/ travel.

As someone who just had release surgery I can offer the following. 1) rest and stretch your hand after using it on phone or laptop after 20 minutes. Look online for stretches. Be vigilant. 2) if u have pain or numbness. Wear a wrist guard that goes as far up your forearm as possible. Use while sleeping if you sleep on your hand and use for anything that hyper extends your hand 3) see a specialist if you have numbness, and start PT which will help! Your last straw is surgery which I had

I went and got a hand/wrist guard specific to it. Had to wear it a ton when my arm:wrist went numb and painful. Anytime I feel it spike again I wear it. It started when I had a shitty desk option at the client that destroyed my posture.

try a vertical mouse and external ergonomic keyboard, it was a game changer for me.

Evoluent makes a great mouse that has vastly improved my carpal tunnel pain

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.

I quit my old job but am working PT for them till they find a replacement. Apparently they could not get a refund on a flight they booked me and my manager is asking if (not me, but I can see it in Teams) I can reimburse for the ticket. It’s $800, anyone know if this is legal?

Joining a big firm next week as fully remote lateral and flying out to home office for orientation. The schedule has me in office until 4:15. I’ve already been told I won’t have any actual work. Depending on how many people are there and how it feels, I was planning to stay an hour extra but should I hang around the office until later? First time visiting this city so it’d be great to take in some sights too (although that’s not a priority of course).

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

Help! I recently purchased a wanna get away ticket through Southwest for a business trip that was about $850. I was asked to cancel the trip due to other work issues in my local area. As luck would have it, there's a strong possibility that I landed a great new job and they need me to start right away. The credit is under my personal rapid rewards account. Ideas to help me avoid writing a big check to my company??
