Does anyone have any experience as a financial writer/journalist? I initially majored in English before moving over to accounting. I'm now a decade into my career and finding it to be pretty soul sucking. Wondering if it might be worth trying to combine the two experiences into a job. But I'm having trouble finding information about how much a role like this would pay - $55k-ish seems awfully low to me. All insight appreciated.

Been with company for 2.5 years in a SFA role, and they just let me hire an associate financial analyst reporting into me. My manager never mentioned anything in regards to a promotion, but when I asked, I was told that there will be an evaluation period before any promotion is given. Has anyone else had this before, where you are managing someone but they don’t give you a promotion? Sounds bizarre to me that they allow me to hire someone but then are hesitant to promote.
