You are covered for one month after your contract is terminated by default. You can check this with your HR but I just went through a similar transition and used my previous insurance even 3 weeks after I left the firm.
If you’re with BCG you normally have coverage for one month after you leave, check with the HR team on this but there used to be a grace period
Do you have an ongoing expensive treatment? If not, i would say just pay out of pocket for that month. The hassle and price of coverage will be so draining
I mean yeah its the smart responsible thing to do but im a lazy git haha so maybe my suggestions not good
Maybe ask your new firm to start coverage 2 weeks earlier? Potentially pay something out of pocket but at least will be easier admin wise and allows continuity later when you get to the new firm.
Which reminds me when I left my previous firm there was a requirement on them to extend my insurance coverage till I get a new one, might want to check that out.

McKinsey’s health insurance is valid for 3 months after your last day at the firm. Check if BCG has something similar
Yess thanks guys! Just checked and there is a 30 day coverage after final day
