If anything its not generous enough
If I’ve paid into it ... I’d like my money back thanks
The statement stands. The government is holding money hostage to cherry pick which taxpayers are “eligible”. Quick pocket watching and give anyone who paid in the option to receive it.
No. Especially for someone who is drowning in student loan debt. Tbh all income limits should take into account student loan debt.
No. I think the $2T TCJA tax cut was too generous in terms of the income limits for who received them.

Not taking isn't the same as giving.

Hard to say. I think they could be a lot more efficient about sending out the money, but it would be an administrative nightmare. I just think to many people who were not effected by the shut downs got free money. I would have preferred more money for unemployment but that would hurt those that are employed but got hours cut. So I guess this may be the best way but it bugs me knowing, for an over generalized, example, retired people no income because they have little taxable income and large assets getting money. Or someone like the president (no politics, just using him as an example) that if the stories are correct that he has a bunch of business losses that wipe out out all his taxable income. Don’t know how to do it better though.
Considering the median household income in the US is ~$50K, its not generous enough
It isn't. It starts to phase out at $75K per individual. But if the median household income is ~$50-60K and median individual income is ~$45K, why aren't we focused on why this isn't nearly enough for the MAJORITY of people who receive the stimulus.
