We’re technically the same person. My spouse has found some ways of relaxing by buying a bunch of plants and taking care of them, and now actually having our toddler participate in watering them. Not a perfect solution, but I’ve noticed it has helped a bit. I on the other hand try to let go and let them deal with their feelings (while sometimes ignoring mine) Hang in there!
You too!
Im the opposite situation. I was pregnant in the pandemic and apparently had an underlying case of OCD. It’s incredibly difficult for my very laid back husband to live with. It’s destroyed a lot of our family relationships because I have made (appropriate and pediatrician recommended ***) boundaries that others just don’t understand, but I am unwilling to compromise on for the safety of our child.
All I can say is give them patience and grace. It will take time, but let them find comfort as our society and time moves on. If you push too much too soon, they will resent you. I know it’s a lot, but I promise you being in their shoes is so, so much. You will get through this. They will get better. This is a once in a lifetime tragedy we have collectively experienced.
I wish I had better advice than to just make sure they feel safe and loved, and not challenged or ridiculed, but it honestly is the best way my partner and I have personally been able to progress. ❤️
Thank you for this. I wish you well.
CBD and exercise. With both, they’re a different person. Without one or the other, it’s a roller coaster.
