No… I’d say rarely if ever. Probably 80% of us have a masters to meet CPA hours, the firm does not give any consideration to whether you have a masters or not.
Almost everyone (except very rare circumstances) spend 2 full years as a staff before being promoted to senior.

Are you sure it’s not senior assistant ? That’s just a fancy way of saying A2. graduate degrees in audit have no impact on progression/ salary. Only MST/LLM/JD does in tax
Ohh it is senior assistant.. thanks for the info
No, they don’t even do salary consideration for having a master’s degree (tax)

Are you sure these people have been promoted to senior in less than a year? Sounds like BS to me or you have some friends/acquaintances that are geniuses.

But how would you know if they’ve truly been promoted or just saying they are?
No, masters in accounting has no value outside of credit hours to sit for CPA and an additional shot at recruiting if you missed the boat in undergrad.
Does being ACCA or CIMA accredited make any difference to promotion prospects or pay?
Yes I think so!
There’s a bunch of exams to take plus work experience sign off, usually takes about 3 years to complete
Most people there are CPA eligible, which means you must be 2/3 through your master.
If it was true, most people would be senior in a year.
