I have a CD title but swing between imposter syndrome and bitterness that I am underpaid/undervalued and want to hear from others if I would ever be taken seriously elsewhere. I make 108k/NYC at a non-agency “media company”. I have no prior relevant experience for this role, I just sort of fell into it. I draw storyboards, strategize, write scripts, make decks, direct shoots, art direct/set dress/food style shoots, am on screen talent/creator, etc. No direct reports. Been here 2 yrs. 😕

PwC imo
Agreed with EY2, the kool aid at PwC is a wild thing
That’s interesting… What part of Deloitte are you interviewing for?
I’d try to negotiate higher or just turn it down. It’s justified that you wouldn’t want to jump somewhere when there’s a cost to restarting your network.
Wild to me that during such high attrition Deloitte isn’t stopping the bleed.
Pay bands vary widely, even within one firm.
Are you going to ask for more from Deloitte?
PwC pays the least (at least in the Bay Area)
On paper I don't think PwC pays the most out of the big 4 salary wise. That said, their bonuses seem to be pretty competitive at the management level. This may sound silly to some but with the wealth builder having 6% free contributions at senior manager/director level (doesn't require matching) and 1.5% 401K matching, their retirement benefits are pretty solid. Little things like having your phone paid for or the Pulse well-being rewards also add up. I can't speak to what these programs look like at other firms, but I almost went to RSM until I examined these non-salary benefits and they added up quickly.
The recent rumor mill is also that partner distributions are up (we're talking partner comp being closer to 1 mil vs. 300-500K). Not sure what non-PwC partner comp looks like nowadays.
You have to be there a long time to make free contributions worth it
Deloitte pays the least in nyc at least!
