I had some luck, granted it was small. I was negotiating and pushing for a higher salary, which they came up a bit on, but not to the level I was requesting. We ended up working out a small signing bonus to close some of the gap for the year (less than 5k).
I negotiated for one and they came back with a flat no. Were willing to negotiate salary, but I don’t think you’ll see signing bonus at consultant level
As a hiring manager I can confirm that there is no hard and fast rule about this. As with any hiring situation, sign-on bonuses are great tools to make a hire more comfortable making a decision. It's preferable to increasing salary/base pay, as it's only a one-time cost.
It definitely happens. But not as a ceremony. As a carrot if a candidate is struggling on the fence.
Its rare....you can get one if you have niche skills (salesforce or cloud) and slalom osncompeting against another company that offers sign on bonuses
Got it, thanks!
