I was at Ross and there are people who head to NYC every year - and most other offices for that matter. Generally there will be more people at any school heading to the office closest to the school, but that is more due to self selection than any other factor.

Agreed that it’s mostly self selection. Rossers can get to any office. But many come from the Midwest, like it there, and will end up in Chi/Detroit.
Go to Ross. For 80k savings, you could fly to nyc for networking many times over.

Ross will provide a clearer path to MBB. It is a target school. Stern is not generally considered to be. Coupled with the scholarship, it’s a no brainer.
Many schools are either MBB (each firm separately) target schools or not. If they are, you can get to any office. If they aren’t, it’s very hard. There are a few schools somewhere around T15-25 that are unique in that they might get local MBB attention only. UCLA Anderson is an example; sometimes they get LA MBB love. Emory is another. NYC is a highly desirable office that doesn’t need to supplement with “local targets schools.

Agreed but McK will push you to Detroit / Chicago if they can.
Nope do you
No. Go where you want as long as they are similar prestige
Yes. MBBs actively recruit from both. That should be good enough for OP.
Can anyone of you provide a brief summary of how office choice factors into the recruiting dynamics while on campus?
