What's your take on VISA Infinite concierge?
Careful you will only get 25% or something of the miles because it’s a partner airline
Qatar is not a good choice for mileage runs, great airline otherwise though
It’s whatever you bought your ticket not the class flown
That’s even worse. I know form experience because i flew Qatar once and was really disappointed with the return
If you’re doing it for EQDs...this doesn’t make much sense. Your best bet is to fly AA metal for that reasoning
You get 100% of the EQMs and a percentage of the miles as EQDs based on fare class. I want to figure out what fare class I'll get if I buy econ and upgrade with points to a higher one.
If you somehow get upgraded you’ll get the points based on your original booking class. Also I’m assuming you booked a fare that earns .50 EQMs. A full fare Y ticket is probably more expensive then a discount biz class ticket.
If this is bought through AA and is a code share OP will earn full EQM and EQS. But only to what you paid. If you're upgrading on point you do not get additional for the fare class.
OP, I would just confirm your trip qualifies for the challenge through Qatar. Without a challenge the ticket must be brought through American to get full EQM or EQS (if you buy through Qatar its worth the value chart provided for partner airlines), but I looked at the targeted challenge and Qatar isn't listed as an option (at least on mine) the specific partners you can use are Based on D1 sounds like no codeshare so just make sure to check all your boxes to not be disappointed at the end. If all works out seems like a good plan on your end (but to your original question, no EQD or EQM on the upgrade, its on your purchase)
I'm more after EQDs than the EQMs so this will probably get me there along with two transcon work trips
Isn’t it early in the year for a mileage run?
I got one of the AA targeted offers for Plat Pro thru May, and extended to 2020 if I complete 20k EQMs and 2400 EQDs
Why Pakistan... Unless you're Pakistani and perhaps have folks to visit there. Much better mileage run destinations imo...
A little bit of both.... Would've just flown Emirates if it wasn't for the status challenge since I have EK miles expiring this year
Why are you doing a mileage run in January?
Status challenge
