Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

I don't think recruitment process is slowed down. There's still demands for the skills. Only issue is our NP of 90 days. If flexible negotiable then once try to update 30/60 days on naukri just to check, you will get 30-40 calls daily(5-10 MNC calls). Lot of opportunities. Try or prepare till 1 month hard then try.
Yes true
Why are you first thinking it's not the right time to switch?
There no recession in India don't worry. It won't much impact the tech role i think
Keep multiple offers and give joining dates different, so that at the last moment you will have option if one back out
But is it ethical/legal for a company to back out after offering you a job and you have accepted it?? If even recession happened, this will be an axe on our feet isn't it? Or we can file a legal notice for compensation... don't know how efficient it will be?
Without offer donot put paper.
Why so desperate?

Yes if you have a offer, 90 days np is nt an issue as i have currently served the same before joining the new company and the company was open for the same
I meant the companies are on hiring mode i ask
Hiring process is slow , not getting much calls for testing domain
