If I take a job at Amazon in India, is it considered as prestigious to FAANG companies as Amazon in Silicon Valley?

Probably depends on what you’re doing for Amazon in India - are you running an existing program or product? In that case it’s probably not quite as prestigious, but still good. If you’re building a new business or product line in India, that could be looked at as on par or even preferable, at least from a talent evaluation standpoint. This is due to the shift in business thinking towards “frontier” markets for the large tech players as their business in the US matures. Here in the States, there are many “knowns” and the environment is stable and to a certain extent market dynamics are predictable from a strategic standpoint. In another country, there are many more “unknowns” and ambiguity, and generally things are less predictable because it’s all so new. Just my two cents.

Advice needed: I’m a SR CW looking for my next move. After hours and hours of applying and shuffling through job postings, I’m intrigued by the possibility of making a move to UX writing. My current company offers an education stipend that I could use towards an online course. After much research there are several courses that offer an “industry recognized certification”. So my question is, what’s the ROI on earning this certification? Should I go for it or just learn UX on the fly?

Worked remote in another country last year and fell in love with it. Asked work for approval to live and work their remotely full time. I was told no and that no one is able to work out of the country because of taxes etc, which is fair. I later find out that I have coworkers who are lying about working in other countries and some who got approval to work in other countries. Yet I was told it was not allowed. Would you go to HR and be like wtf? Sounds like a rule that applies only sometimes.
