Took my first GMAC official practice EA and scored a 159. From what I read, that translates to roughly a 155 real-test.

Anyone with experience on the GMAC practice tests and then getting their real scores?

My goal is Darden or Ross next year. GI bill funds both really well.

Been in Sales for 12years, done it all from transactional to complex, from 10k to 650M and from local to global, and 2 weeks to 24 months Sales Cycles - now aiming to move into a management role within the next two years, ideally mid sized business, build and execute a strategy for growth, shape a vision and drive the overall success on a more strategic level. Led teams and managers.

Masters and getting my MBA done currently - any advise what is key to make it happen?

Need help guys: LLM in International Taxation: NYU ($65,000) or UF ($22,000)? Is it worth the extra 43K for a NYU degree? If you’re recruiting someone, does it matter to you whether they went to UF or NYU?

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

Anyone with financial due diligence/deals experience successfully get into a top MBA program with a post-MBA goal of pivoting into VC? How did you sell it? It seems the advice I keep getting is to apply and say I want to go into consulting short term since it’s less of a gamble for schools

Would you suggest someone pursuing an MBA if they want to get a role in HR or Project Management? And for those that want to pursue product management... are there still a decent amount of numbers similar to accounting? Thanks

How do people get interview call from Accenture Strategy & Consulting? I am an MBA from tier 2, 5 YoE post MBA in Financial Risk. Currently working with a Big 4.

I would like to hit fire between 40-50. Currently 27, 185k total comp (125 for me and 60 for partner). Like my job don’t hate it don’t love it. Does an MBA make sense? I’m guessing it could take me to 170ish with that schools I’m looking at but wondering if the 40-50 retirement range makes an mba not make sense since I’d only have 10-20 years to save vs 12-22.

Would have to finance the whole thing myself. Current net worth is 140k. Thoughts?

Is a 710 gmat (q44 v42) worth retaking? I’m a Latin American male working at McKinsey, 4.0 gpa from the top university in my country on a full scholarship. Maybe with a lot of effort I could get my score up to a 730, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the time

Taking my GMAT in 7 weeks. Just finished the large Kaplan book and have done 2 practice tests so far. What should I do next? Worth investing in a GMAT tutor? Getting 600 on practice tests but want a 690~.

Hi Everyone, doing research on evening MBA programs in the DC area. Appreciate any insight on any of the programs, especially if they have a data analytics specialization.

I think it's common to choose Stanford over Wharton. However, Wharton has one of the largest alumni bases (99,000+ throughout the US) while Stanford is smaller (20,000, concentrated on the West Coast)

Consortium applicants: Can you apply to different schools in different rounds? Eg. Three schools in Round 1 Two schools in Round 2

I think I read about some kind of process where when an applicant reaches out to a current student or alum for a 1:1 and makes a good impression, the student/alum can send a message to the adcom letting them know? Is it like a "Hey I connected with this applicant and had a great conversation with them. I think they would be a great fit for the program" type of thing?

What do people mean when they say average recs vs good recs? I'm not sure I fully understand what would differentiate an average vs good vs great recommendation and would appreciate some thoughts

T2 consulting —> MBA at M7–> top tier IB —> top tier PE/HF. Is this feasible?

I think I’m having a midlife crisis… 36 y/o, 9 years in consulting before exiting as a Director at a Fortune 50 a year ago. Engineering degree with a sub 3.0 gpa. I shouldn’t think of an MBA as a viable career pivot option at this point right?

Data Consulting (3.5 years at attendance). Early promotion, and multiple management roles in projects. 2 clubs leader at work. 3 years Volunteer ex in community. Any tips?
