I’m about to start an internship at IBM for UX Research. I’m super excited about it, and was wondering if anyone could tell me about the design culture there or how the company is for designers? So far online I’ve only heard about the company from consultants or software engineers. For more reference I’ll be working in Austin.

Snapshots aren't the tool to get feedback, someone should have told you that. You're supposed to be proactive in asking for feedback, with snapshots being a formality; that's the norm in consulting. Can't tell if you did that based off your post but makes a huge diff to your story
Do a basic google search and everyone will tell you the keys to a successful internship are asking for genuine feedback often from everyone on your team, and showing strong progress towards the feedback. Snapshot is a joke, you want time to react and adapt to feedback before someone logs a formal appraisal for you... that being said S& ignores snapshot results, not sure what PwC does with them (hopefully burn them all).
@pwc4 then why ask me to work weekends and holidays...
@P7 - you're a millennial too in case you forgot
P16 Damn. I'm a scrub.
Which office were you in? I can attest that the Boston intern process when I was at PwC was always positive.
Pwc20 I've had 5 internships at 4 different places
@pwc12 why be a bartender when I've got an offer from a CIO of one of your clients and can just give you guys lots of shit or help choose to go with one of your competitors
#MBBDALERT @S&3
Man some of you pwc folks are the shittiest. Op didn't get a return offer and all you do is put him/her down. Just remember karma. What goes around comes around. Next time it'll be your ass on the chopping block.
S&3: not trying to be a dick, but I don't see where he said he didn't get a return offer. I see where he says the trip to Disneyland won't save his opinion (whatever that means).
Consulting isn't for everyone. The fact that OP views having to work the day after the 4th of July to be a horrible offense reinforces that. I don't take offense nor put down people who are honest with themselves. OP just showed up here and started talking shit about the firm without any context.
Again, I wish you the best with whatever is next.
I actually interned at PwC as well before jumping ship and going full time to Bain. OP I definitely have different complaints than you, but PwC wasn't for me and it definitely isn't for everyone. In particular I wasn't a fan of being pigeon-holed into specific horizontals and verticals with little opportunity to move around or even roll off of the long-term clients my practice area served.
Good luck... I'm sure the grass is greener elsewhere.
What service line were you in? I interned at Deloitte a few years back. Worked the holiday weekend, had friction with the manager. It wasn't a good experience. Found PwC to be far better
It's all group specific in large firns. I've seen team members get the group they want then realize the group they wanted was less attractive in practice. To @D1's point which part of the firm did you intern and have you explored other areas?
How many internships has OP had to compare ? Our return rate for interns is crazy high.
Ew CIO. Have fun.
S&3 is right to a degree. It's possibly both parties faults but we also know what the industry is like going in. Best of luck OP. Consulting isn't for everyone.

My intern and me are having a blast! I'm actually sad she is leaving on Tuesday.
Ah no, S&... I was talking about ACN's vesting, which I felt a better analog... ours is immediate as well, but unfortunately only once a year for 5%, which is bad because you can't dollar cost average
please elaborate PwC7
