when exactly is the ey split happening??
Hi Fishes,
Does Deloitte USI have any cool down period, if you apply and do not get any response from the company? I had previously applied in a role, but didn't hear back from them. So, I'm planning to try to apply via referral this time and I'm wondering if I should use the same e-mail ID or a different one! Deloitte USI

If you join Deloitte GPS you are trapped in a black hole and cannot escape the grip and chains set forth upon your career. Destined to forever going around the circle of life, your own personal green dot.

Happy Friday to you too Mx. Sunshine!
It does not limit you from going to industry. I know colleagues who have transferred anywhere from becoming spies, going to FAANG, startups, banking, REITs.
What matters most is the type of work you are doing, and your seniority.
Thanks so much!
If you haven’t even started and you’re already wondering about what you’ll do after you quit then you’re in the wrong headspace and starting behind the eight ball.
Totally disagree with this D1 - OP can think ahead as much as he/she wants. Better to be prepared especially if OP knows he/she may want to go back to IL
Former Deloitte gps here. The pay is 🥜 compared to your commercial counterparts and exit opportunities are more limited to government roles. Highly suggest applying to commercial side as it is near impossible to switch out of gps once you get sucked into that black hole
Ugh ok... unfortunately I did apply to the Chicago office commercially and Deloitte changed my application to apply for the GPS practice because they exclusively recruit from Georgetown there. Thank you for the advice.
Nah bro you’ll be fine. It’ll be slightly harder than commercial to go to industry (just because you have less exposure) but at the end of the day, consulting is consulting. It’s all about how you explain your consulting skills and experience in interviews.
Thanks so much for the advice.

From a fellow Hoya in GPS feel free to DM me.
I just wouldn’t stay so long. Make sure to diversify your projects and that you’re developing a solid toolbox. Then when you’re ready, I would also apply to industry jobs outside the Washington DC area.
Audit is Audit. If you’re going advisory, different story
You’re fine

This is a very broad question. Not sure what your background is and your area of expertise. However, If you specialize in something and develop a solid skill set then you will be fine. I would not recommend just being a generalist and jack of all trades. Master something.
Thank you!
