And both are offering similar CTC Airbus with 22 fixed plus 3 variable (retention bonus of 5L) JPMorgan Chase with 25 fixed. My family is extended recently considering work-life balance as one of important factor. Which would be a better company to join?

If you could be an SM why on earth would you go to bschool to be hired at associate level at MBB?
Yes I could go be an SM. I wouldn’t be thrilled about going in junior at an MBB, but b school might also lead to a high paying tech job/more quality of life. I’m not focused on consulting, it just seems like B school could be a pivot point w a network.
If you don't know what you're going to do with an MBA, it makes no sense to get one at your age and experience level. While it might check the box on a couple of job postings, you're not going to learn a hell of a lot you don't already know, and it probably won't unlock a different level of comp. Why spend $100,000 plus, for something you don't know you're going to use?
Sadly it’s now around 250 :( all of the schools listed estimate 120k a year (75tuition, fees, health insurance, living etc)
Dayum cuz you got a nice set of b-schools to choose from.
Anyhow the question for me is, what’s the worth of going to MBB?
If the answer is more than you’d make as a B4 SM- go for it.
Not wild about MBB, I would mostly be doing it as a pivot into a different industry or hoping to have a work/life balance that doesn’t include me flying every three days for my 30s
Additional context - I don’t know what I would want to do after B school. Experience is in consulting so fairly confident I could go to BCG or Mck after, but seems hard to have a family and life while starting over at a new firm.
Why did you apply to MBA programs? What was your intent? If you can’t answer that clearly and realistically (not the fluff put in apps), no way you should go back to school
I went to a non target under grade and clawed my way up the ranks at a b4. I applied to primarily pay for a network and make my life easier - either go to an MBB or hopefully avoid consulting and find a work/life balance in tech. A program manager at a FAANg as an example.
Part of the value of an MBA is the network, so def worth considering Wharton/Columbia. Are there scholarships for any of those? Agree that paying full price without an idea of what you want to do after is risky.
Unfortunately I would be paying sticker at both. I feel the same way though - those are the two schools making me pause. Life would be easier on the backend of a wharton or CBS degree.
Also, it’s no guarantee you get MBB through bschool. All your peers apply and interview. Very competitive. Why not get a referral and apply direct now? MBB is hiring like crazy
Feel free to refer me in to BCG :) would be happy to skip bschool and come straight over.

If you could make partner in "a few years" why wouldn't you do that? (Though I think 2 years to PPMD at any b4 would be really difficult).
Few not couple. I think probably 3-5.
