Expecting offers from Google and Meta. Meta will pay more but worst WLB. Meta does allow remote after a while though. Google pays less but maybe stronger brand name for PM? Any thoughts?

I’m not a fan of Meta as a brand. I don’t feel like they are generally doing good things for the world. So I would pick Google.

But if you have no moral conflict, prefer remote, and/or are ok with the WLB tradeoff for more money, then go Meta

likesmart

Meta experience is team dependent. Don’t believe everything you hear on blind etc.

like

I would pick Google too. For the above reasons.

Join Meta if you like to drive things. Join Google if you like someone else drive things.

Firstly, Congrats!

Sorry, I appreciate this is not the point of the thread but from a selfish point of view, how did you manage to get past the initial screening for Meta & Google? PM with 3.5 years exp.

If you know very well on how to play Meta's performance review game, then go there. Otherwise go to Google. Meta couldn't care less about you as an individual.

Hey guys. Company is going back in person full time and really looking to stay remote. Do you have any leads to a remote position for someone who has about 2 years in a cyber security position. I have GSEC and working on GCDA. I’m going back for a part-time masters but for now, don’t have a ton of experience.

I currently work in Atlanta for a healthcare management company that is local to the area. I just got into the healthcare industry and have my bachelors degree in health science. I work in a position in the revenue cycle and I am looking to possibly get a new job in a more established company. I want more stability and opportunity within a company. Does anyone know of any places in/around Atlanta or remote that may fit this criteria? Sorry for the vagueness. Thanks!

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I interviewed at Amazon for a PM role in Dec. 2020 and was ultimely rejected. I was told I have to wait a year to reapply. Fast forward to June 2022, another recruiter reaches out to me re: a PM role. I pass the screening interview, and move on to the virtual on site interview stage. I randomly get a call from the recruiter telling me there is now a TWO YEAR reapply policy in place so I'm not eligible to interview for any PM roles until Dec. 2022. Anyone ever heard of this policy? Seems strange
