I am a clinical research coordinator working in Austin, Texas. I have my Masters in Cell & Molecular Biology and have a year of laboratory research experience.
I’ve been in my position for 5 months now. I make $27 hourly which amounts to about $51,000 yearly. Am I being under paid? Are all coordinator positions hourly? As a laboratory researcher I was salary :(
How do I go about asking for a raise or should I explore other companies or medical schools that have clinical research?
Anyone here have experience negotiating steps with the DOD? I’m coming from the private sector and interested in learning what I need to do to start at a step 5, rather than a step1. Step 1 would be about 13k below my current base/bonus comp package and I don’t want to take such a large hit.
I just graduated from college this year and I’ve been blessed to receive several job offers. I obtained my dream job, but the salary as an entry level employee isn’t very sufficient. I received an offer for a remote position, so I was wondering if it would be possible to manage two full time jobs at the same time if one is remote and the other was on site. Of course, I would make both employers aware and seek permission. I would really appreciate the community’s thoughts on this.
Do you feel like people who worked at FAANG companies come into other companies with a bit of unnecessary hangups?

I work as a Digital Strategist for an agency that specializes in consulting for the public sector. I would like to work at a consulting firm like Deloitte, PwC, Booz Allen Hamilton, or EY. I am wondering if anyone knows the differences and benefits between the digital marketing transformation divisions at these consulting firms?
This might be too ambiguous to answer, but I want to get better at taking iniative, but I don't know how. I can be pretty shy in work settings. I do things without being told, but I want to go beyond that like start projects etc. Provide more value.

How long would I expect to wait for a lateral hire decision after a super day? I know it’s a bit different than university hires because super days are pretty structured and done with all candidates around the same exact time, so I’m wondering if I should expect to wait a few days or weeks.

Coming from ACN, senior analyst, 3yrs total experience so far & wanting to get into the data analytics/BI work. Currently have had experience working with SQL developer, OBIEE/OBIA, Teradata in ERP and Healthcare projects. I also have my AWS Cloud Practitioner Cert, hoping to eventually get the Data Analytics Cert later. What are my chances of finding a role with another company that'll let me work in BI/data analytics and build up my skill at the same time? Been thinking of leaving ACN.
Any recommended courses or books on customer care/cust success analytics or marketing analytics in general?

I'm trying to get into MBB for SC strategy consulting roles. I'm working for a boutique analytics consulting firm and I've done a fair bit of Supply Chain Modeling. Any leads would be helpful!
MBB folks, how is your WLB?
saw a post about working weekends. Are you working 14+ per day over the week and then weekend too?
This may have been posted already, but what are top certifications to get around data management? Not talking specific like AWS cloud practitioner, but rather something more broadly applicable and marketable.
Quick vent. Had a SQL test today for a role I was excited about. 30 minutes to answer 4 questions. I knew how to answer all of the questions but barely finished 1 correct query and 1 partially correct query in the time limit. Probably won’t get the role now. 😕

Got messaged about an analyst job doing the preliminary discovery stuff including dashboards. But not for the business, but to give recommendations to data scientists about where to focus. Having been a modeling DS, I can't imagine why I'd outsource exploratory analysis. Anyone seen a team like this before?
Also worried about career prospects. I've been wanting to turn business facing, but becoming the only DA on a DS team seems like it'd be a dead end with promos?

I’d say it comes down to the company, what do standard data analysts make? If it’s around 75-80 I’d think that makes sense. If it’s also 100 you’re getting robbed
Really depends. Is your master's in CS or statistics? Are you able to work in production environments using distributed technologies?
My company has a new definition of data scientist, largely MS holders in business analytics with similar experience. They start around $115k base in LA + $5k bonus and maybe 10% bonus.
Ph.D graduates with light experience will start closer to $140/10/10-15%.
These hybrid MS programs have much higher quant skills on the output vs most undergrad, and are much more well rounded than math or CS undergrad. In the world of consultants it might seem like the analytics piece is straightforward, but outside that world the "business intuition" doesn't come as naturally. It's the same thing that lets the consulting industry exist.
$115k is on the high end for a new grad in LA, but possible.
