EY: anyone have the inside scoop on the 401k and pension call tomorrow?

Is it better to have a roth IRA account in the same brokerage as your 401k? I’m thinking if i leave my current company, I’d roll over my 401k to roth IRA but does it matter if they are different financial institutions (eg. your 401k is vanguard and roth IRA is fidelity)?

There are some benefits to distance learning. Not having to deal with the knuckleheads is one. Discipline and classroom management takes so much effort. However I still miss not being able to see my students in the classroom. I feel empty. And I hate teaching into a screen.

What is your firm’s policy on how long an associate should have been with the firm before they’re eligible for paid maternity leave?

I recently applied for global entry and paid the $100 on my chase sapphire preferred. Today I got approved for the Amex platinum and they have a $100 reimbursement credit for global entry. Is there anyway I can get it reimbursed or am I screwed because the charge is on my CSP? I haven’t paid off my CSP statement yet. TIA!

Help! I have major imposter syndrome when it comes to design. I’ve read textbooks, I follow accounts for inspiration, I watch online videos, but I always feel like I’m missing a spark.

How do I appropriately ask for a substantial raise?

Why is that many(in SF especially) say they have not benefited or got anything from RSUs? Were they fired or they asked more of salary and less of RSUs? One would have thought these people who worked for top tech companies including Salesforce would have got "rich"(well off). I had always thought these people would have been OK by now after years of being in the Bay Area working for top tech companies yet they have "nothing" in their banks or assets. Some have had hefty 350K salary. So confused.

How long does it take for you to tell if a new person is going to do well or not? A new person started on my team a couple of weeks ago and I already have a gut feeling that it’s just not a good fit. Can’t decide if I’m good at getting a read on people or I’m just being too judgemental.

I’m a mid-level/senior (read: pigeonholed) patent prep/pros associate who is getting burnt out by the grind. I refuse to accept that the only options are keep churning patent applications, or to go in-house to manage attorneys who churn patent applications. I would love nothing more than to expand my practice, but the legal community doesn’t view us patent folk as real attorneys. Is there any hope?
