I just got an offer from EY in London but considering based on what the maternity policy is which doesn’t seem to be spelt out in contract or benefits pdf. Does anyone know a) if there’s a minimum employment period to qualify and b) what the enhanced maternity pay is. I’ve read both 16 weeks and 18 weeks.

Is there an SM-comparable SME role you can target? SM pay band would be a better match for your current/desired pay, but I would investigate your readiness for the actual responsibilities. Many senior industry hires, despite having solid industry/functional expertise, fail when they join consulting at M/SM levels. Moving from industry to consulting is a noticeable shift, and it takes time to get the hang of consulting and running engagements if you lack previous consulting experience. And as senior manager, you will have meaningful sales targets that may be hard to hit without comparable sales experience and a network.
I do have previous consulting experience although not at the management level so well aware of this. I think I can handle the transition back.
If you haven’t been a senior manager in consulting they are extremely unlikely to bring you in as one. I came in as an M4 and promoted to SM in 12 months so they could check.
