@kpmg1 yes pwc is so much worse than kpmg. I've been at both and while I totally think it depends on the specific office my experience has been horrible with pwc. I think there are good and bad offices in each of these firms, but overall I like the set up of the kpmg partnership model better than the pwc one. It breeds a competitive, cut throat culture, and I never once saw that at kpmg. I obviously also don't know this for a fact but I felt that kpmg spent a larger percentage of their profits on their people and spread the wealth a bit more.
Yeah "culture" depends on the office, and the group within the office (if you're in a big office). I saw some great cultures at KPMG and some shit cultures. EY seems pretty great so far, but I haven't been here that long.
But the two times I interviewed with Deloitte? Yeah I would think Deloitte would have "worst Big 4 culture" in the bag!
Depends on office? I think ey culture is fine, there are lots of nice people. Cannot comment on vision 2020 and the waves of layoffs tho
eys awesome. cultures great. i always hear how dt and pwc sucks. i dont really hear anything bout kpmg
Good. Is there a spell check on this thing?
Depends on who you ask. I've been with EY for 18 years. Culture was great until just after Turley retired...It sucks ass now. IMHO
Only worked at EY and PWC, but in between was a client of all the big 4. After seeing it from the client side, only considered EY when I returned to B4. Definitely the best culture in general. Don't get caught up in "branding" phrases like vision 2020 or Building a better working world - those are created by PR and not us accountants. The culture is what we make it on a daily basis. You can choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution. If it is a choice between laughing and crying, choose laughing!
Attitudes within the office
Outsidecpa... i have done 2 of the big 4..lol... i need the other two for my set
PwC
Def not. It all depends on 3 things: 1. Team, 2. Client(s) and 3. Sub service line/management
^what changed?
Office determines that. I was at Deloitte for 4 years... office was a shit show. Now at PwC, for this office at least they got the people aspect down better than the slave driving, all the sheep get to work in the damn coal mine and fuck your PTO mindset at Deloitte.
EY/PWC>Deloitte>>>>>>>>>>>>>KPMG
Firm propaganda to make some absolutely unrealistic global revenue goal by 2020.
And work culture or people culture?
It's very subjective
Agree^
Nope.. but there should be..
Haven't worked Big 4 for a long time but I would conjecture that (best to worst) it would be EY, KPMG,PWC and then Deloitte.
I think we're all thinking overall/generally, not even office specific ^
Turley was the man.
