EY People: anyone had luck booking hotels through their Starwood Ambassador versus Amex Travel? Would be so much easier to just email her the month's plans but I'm worried about the expense police.

Dont do it. U wont get reimbursed. They are getting very strict now.. And CHEAP

like

There is a rate # associated with EY that will allow your ambassador to book at the EY rate

like

Thanks all!! Given that I'm already using my Starwood Amex every week on my hotel, thinking I won't risk it for now. Seems like they're being weird about some expense stuff at the moment

like

You need a record locator to charge in the expense.. I didn't book one time through Amex travel and I ended up paying out of pocket for a $1200 hotel stay. Even with a partner and SM fighting the expense people for me! I would love to use my ambassador instead

like

Looks like one of EY's major sources of savings is having their employees pay for their business

like

(Assuming it's at the EY rate of course)

I've done this stating that the savings booking direct were significant but depending on the week audit sometimes (mostly didn't) have a cow but j have heard some horror stories too. Choose wisely.

I have used my ambassador and the hotel manager to accommodate me on more than a few occasions when Amex travel politely says nothing is available . What helped my case was that my project manager was in the same boat

But our issue isn't just the EY rate but also the tightening of the policy to use Amex Travel specifically to book everything. I'd say that the savings explanation would go far, but you still might run into issues. They want savings, but they also want volume tracked by the travel management site as well as to have logs of where people are for emergency services. Since you have a good case expense-wise, you might just talk to the regional finance director (even if you're in a national practice) for their opinion. They are usually pretty helpful.

Just get the SET code for EY rate and then give it to your ambassador

You technically are breaking policy by not using corporate Amex too. If you are trying to be safe, I'd say stop that too.

OP - I've been contemplating using a different Amex as well. No problems so far submitting via gT&E with folio?

Looking for referrals for a Technical Sales Executive position that is Remote (USA), possibly in the industrial sector. Last year I made $109k at AT&T so I'm hoping to at least stay in the same ball park but want a change. I have lots of experience selling IT/telecom, but I also have a Mechanical Engineering background so I'm a good fit for a wide range of technical sales. I have been thinking a role in the industrial sector with a longer sales cycle may be a good fit, can travel up to 25%
