We love traveling to Lake Norman and renting a boat for the day. we normally take our kids/whole family along with us but I think it would be fun to have a more relaxed couples' day at the lake too! Gorgeous views :)
This is a great idea! Thank you so much. Would be a nice experience with some friends for sure
Linville Gorge Wilderness or Pisgah Forest/Asheville area for day hikes. Linville Gorge (in my opinion) is more difficult of the two.
Hi! Optimist hall is a fun food hall spot! Or grab some coffee and breakfast sandwiches at Common Market in South End. Fun/funky spot to hang out for a while. Big outdoor area too which is nice for the weather. After that, I’d recommend walking along the rail trail in south end and doing some shopping and stop and a brewery if y’all drink.
Asheville is so pretty. I'm a nature love so my partner and I love hopping from waterfall to waterfall
Greenville is cute.
I went to school in Winston. Not much to it - I’d choose one of the other options first.
Lake Norman is my personal favorite. Just love the vibe there. I'm a pretty big fisherman if you're into that.
Uwharrie National Forest; if you're into hiking this has for sure got to shoot to #1 on your trip. always feels so good to get out of town.
Oooo some great day trips from Charlotte are Asheville, NC (for hiking, breweries, and restaurants), Charleston, SC (for historic sites, beaches, and food), Lake Norman (for water activities and scenic views), and Greenville, SC (for outdoor activities, art, and food).
