Fed up of "AI" and "layoff" news in CBA. Looks like some people are paid just to spread the word "AI". On top of that managers (non-rechnical) from service based companies are doing absolutely nothing. Top on ego. Can't even type a mail without using ChatGPT. They are making trivial issues look like some escalations. Why these managers are even hired ? They made a 4.5 rated company to a 2.7 rated company.

Need some suggestions: My current company is on a layoff spree and 2 rounds are already done and I can foresee another round coming very soon.

While I am trying to switch to other companies, I’m not able to reveal the real reason from my side for the job change, as if I say, it’s because of layoff fears than it’ll reduce my negotiation power.

What other reasons can I give as I’ve just completed 9 months here and it’s too soon for any other company to take me in.

A $1T valuation is fine, but Tim Cook should be fired for the value loss that came from actually producing products, being famously boring and not losing his mind on social media.

Not sure why the execs keep their jobs and layoff production. Do we need all top-level operation staff when there isn’t much left to operate? I have ahead time seeing C-suite doin any production work

I rented a house that had been vacant for a bit & the prior tenant didn’t do a thorough job cleaning up. Agent indicated the owner would be open to having the house cleaned but I would need to have the house professionally cleaned when I moved out (that was fine w me).
