Healthy child should be good enough gift for the both of you.
I made the mistake of laughing my ass off when my wife introduced the concept of a push present. I honestly thought she was joking.
I now regret laughing. A lot.
RT bcg1, its another of those BS gifts made for you to keep spending... Every kiss begins with Kay. Also, she can’t drink wine assuming she’s breastfeeding
That money is better spent on the kid than on a push present if you don’t already know what to get.
Postpartum night doula
A gift card for a massage or something like StichFix. Let her indulge in something nice.
Sweet of you to think of it and ask. Nothing wrong with wine in moderation, even if breastfeeding.
I’d get an experience of some sorts for the two of them, the three of you, or Mom alone as soon as you can take care of Little Pinkfoot (that’s an OK expression, right ... not assuming you’re white at all; I think all babies have pink feet) for an hour or two.
Good luck! You sound like a great husband and I’m sure you’ll make a great dad.
😢 Tear of joy for you, and nostalgia for me.
A cleaning service to come and clean the house/apt a few weeks in
I commissioned a painting from her favorite artist for our first. Nothing for the second kid. Funny how things change. I second S1’s doula suggestion. Sleep consultant was huge for us
Wine for after man
A1 the bottle is already in the bag!
Push present is not a thing outside the US, don’t fall for the consumerism lobby ;-)
I remember laughing when I first heard of it. Most of my friends have done it so I was thinking of something reasonable. Nothing like the thousands that they spent on jewelry, purses, and such.
So basically you do whatever your friends do.
Got the wife a nice Epson photo printer. Not too expensive and it’s something we use all the time
I personally think a printer would piss my wife off, but that’s where people are different so who knows
Lol
My wife didn't know about this when we had our first one last year. Also considering myself lucky since my wife is less materialistic than I am.
