If it is cheaper than your regular flight then no one cares.
Flex all day, nobody gives a shit
No flexxxxx zone
As long as it’s cheaper and you can still work Friday doesn’t matter
D1: you should always log it as alt travel. Might not be of issue now but once you get audited, you’re in a hole.
A) alt travel needs to be approved
B) you should always log it as alt travel
There’s no heroics in messing with expense policies
It’s can be more and nobody gives a shit either, you just pay the delta.
ie. Round trip $800, flex is $1200. When you expenses just put $800, and $400 personal, and they will only reimbursement for $800. I’ve flown international on flex and have had no issues whatsoever. Why would they give a fuck where you go if you cover the delta it’s the same cost
I’ve never asked. Never logged alt travel. As long as the ticket is close to the same it doesn’t matter
Remember that it’ll be considered a taxable income. Still better than paying out of pocket
Go flex yourself! 💪
Who actually pays a consistent price for airfare week to week? I certainly do not, and it varies wildly actually. Are you supposed to average the cost over the last year or 6 months?
I alt travel about 3 out of 4 weeks a month and have never had any issues. Ticket to alt destination is always equal or cheaper than home base. No one cares Enjoy the flexibility!
I honestly never thought it was a big deal until I joined fb. And it is right there in the expense policy. But I’ve been doing alt for many years at many firms. I’ll be more careful about it now
