Many #machinelearning algorithms, whether supervised or unsupervised, make use of distance measures.
Take k-NN for example, a technique often used for supervised learning. As a default, it often uses euclidean distance.
By itself, a great distance measure.
Knowing when to use which distance measure can help you go from a poor classifier to an accurate model.

At EY, this situation happens due to 3 scenarios: bad advocating partner, average rating, and you are too passive. I know someone who had to move to another office since the partner in the old office wasn't supportive but the partner in the new office was, I know someone who got a pushback due to being a mediocre, and I know someone who didn't make a move. As long as you have proven yourself and the firm sees you as an asset, the firm will try its best to support you. This is based on my experience
Thanks for letting us know. Will strike them off my list.
Pro
OP, you’re wrong
Policy is:
1. Need to be a senior associate
2. Atleast 1 year with the firm
3. Need to be in good standing
I started my process in my 2nd year of h1
I was offered to start my process on my second year.
It’s taking two years to get i140. How do they plan to keep you working after 6th year is done

Sent PWD on 5/13 - haven’t heard anything back. Definitely taking longer than before

But what if someone’s h1b was running out they’d need to start
You are spreading rumors to scare off people. PwC immigrant specifically said they would start 3 years before your h1b extension expires. Why would they start at year 5 ? you can’t even finish perm in 1 year, they will have to pay more to do more h1b extension and things will be more complicated. Maybe your friends don’t speak up enough
Is that a new rule? I thought they would start the process once you are at senior associate level, at least one year in the firm and in good “standings”.

That’s what I heard too
where did you get this from?
Op - please stop sharing false information as if it is the norm.
Same at kpmg

To everyone saying PwC starts as soon as someone gets promoted to a Senior, that has not been my experience. I asked HR and they said you need to (1) be a Senior and (2) be on your second leg of your 6-year H1b period. My friend is on her 5th year of H1b and they just started hers.
I am just sharing this to caution everyone else.
To add on, it definitely helps to have the support of your RL, connectivity partner and market team leader. Going directly to HR wouldn’t be the best way to do this
Tech companies generally start the process right after you join
Speaking from personal experience, OP’s statements are false and there is no such rule.
Go to Big Tech.. The lawyers reached out with the questionnaire in my first week. 😊
If you are saying this based on some specific cases and not an actual update in policy, then this looks like fear mongering to me. I can see that some people might have experienced this but it seems the policy is different.
Not true
Pwc starts the GC process once you’re a senior associate or if lateral hire, a year after you joined the firm.
