I have a field in excel that represents the GSID, that I want to concatenate to create a link. Example field GSID is 123-west and the link needs to be www.website/123_west.html for some reason using concatenate with left & right formulas to switch - to _ results in the field throwing an error. Anyone knows of a way to make this work?
Which FAANG companies have non-tech PM roles?

Not hating, some people know what they bring to the table. Like technical ppl hate consulting since they can use their skills properly, similarly non hard core programming people would like the pay bands from FAANG but know they can’t compete or have the same levels of technical expertise as their colleagues. Hence, can’t get a job there has different meaning for different people.
-> I suck and failed my interview so I’m salty
-> I know I will never pass their tech rounds and I’m upset but life goes on.
Oh and who wants to live in San Francisco?
Passed my interviews at AWS, would rather go in at a L5 maybe 6 after 5 years in consulting than out of undergrad at an L3 and take 8-10 years to make L5
Rejected 3 offers from Amazon and one from Apple to choose BCG. Have been financially more successful with equivalent hours (50ish week) and done much broader set of work here.
I get interview invites from different FAANGs each year. So no, I am with consulting because I like it more. If I have to go to FAANG I can go anytime.
McK2: I don’t think you should compare total comp post b-school; because the stocks don’t vest until end of 4 years. Compare the comp over multiple years.
Salesforce1: 10 years is a lot of experience. Assuming you have similar profile at BCG ; say 4 years pre MBA and 6 years post ; you would be looking around $450k
Naw. No one wants to live in that dump called San Francisco
It really is a dump. The homeless population is definitely in excess, not to mention how expensive, old and tiny the apartments are (I'm sure there are exceptions in the nicer neighborhood hoods but on average SF is quite filthy)
No
Damn OP, that didn’t go as you had expected. 🤣🤣
This is the modern day equivalent of the magazine cover indicator. Good riddance tech bubble 2.0. When your valuations come crashing down and these companies no longer pay above market, many will realize that city has little else to offer.
Your Governor just recently said that doctors should be able to write RX for a house, paid for buy taxpayers 😂. Your state is run by complete lunatics, and all of the bad things about it will only continue to get worse until adults take charge again.
ACN4 seriously buddy get out of your echo chamber. Not everyone wants Castro or Mao in charge
Actually you don’t need to live in SF to work for FAANG companies. They hire in other cities too.
Don’t ruin it for the rest of us. We like our cities and jobs they way they are!
I’m from SF and even I don’t want to move back there. It’s expensive, boring and the ppl aren’t interesting at all. FAANG culture sounds cool but all the former tech ppl I’ve worked with don’t treat women in the workplace very well.
I would love to work in FAANG, I would hate to live in San Francisco.
Hahaha I live in SF and dislike both SF and FAANG. SF and FAANG are both overrated with boring culture
You must not know the right people in SF
San Francisco is 💩💩💩💩
For everyone hating on SF- why is the city so bad? Apart from price.
Yep mostly price
Live in SF & FAANG is no longer the goal for many people lol, there’s a preference shift towards smaller companies (Robinhood, Samsara, Stripe, etc.) & even companies like Airbnb/Uber.
I got three emails from headhunters in the last 2 months for opportunities in SF. I declined all of them immediately because I am happy where I live now.
I am an immigrant and I care much less about the perception or the prestige of places. Once I was talking to a friend who worked in Manhattan. She told me that she saw a great place in Jersey City but didn’t want to rent it because NJ is uncool...
I live near Princeton, NJ today and I absolutely love it. I have a large home, we are close to everything. Nature is beautiful. We are also an hour train ride from Penn Station.
My point is that try to have an objective look at the pros and cons of places. Prestige etc won’t matter at the end of the day.
Ditto, I'm at Slalom now and don't plan to leave anytime soon. Wlb and pay are perfect.
I'm sure I could make a lot more, but I'm not willing to give up happiness and wlb for anything
No way! SFO is the same rent as NYC without the energy, variety, history and public transport options. So full of robots and clones competing for the same artificial west coast idea of “status” which basically boils down to the next Tesla and assorted blocky house (posing to mean “modern design”). I feel like people come off an assembly line there, not 1 original person or idea.
Imagine being this narcissistic lmao
I lived in SF before its the worst city I've ever lived in. Couldnt wait to move out of there.
OP, we are all waiting for your defense :)
Damn you are all such haters. There’s much more than SF. East Bay (Berkeley) is legit.
Haha true!
Would love to - beautiful city, great food, close proximity to Napa. Don’t want the pressure of startup culture.
