The four day travel week with light Fridays, seeing different cities, accruing a lot of points, miles, and high level status that’s beneficial for personal travel.
Agreee. I miss the Fridays

Two things: money and alone time. I love disconnecting on flights and reading or just listening to music. But I refuse to do weekend work outside of go-lives.
People love the grind, man. It’s just something innate. The travel and grind makes you feel some type of way. A different purpose.
Paying down student loans enough to leave consulting and be around to be part of my kids lives growing up 😞
There’s a certain balance where travel is awesome and has probably been great for my marriage because we are both independent and never attached at the hip (you know those couples who are never not together, jealousy is sometimes also an issue there) but also we love the time we are together. But I’ve also been in situations where I traveled for months on end and I would rather be home full time than travel full time. This time WFH has been cool but I’m also not opposed to going back to travel, TO AN EXTENT. 40% to me is perfect. We would like to start a family soon and it’s strange but I don’t want to request zero travel like a lot of people do at that point. (Female here)
Work is high impact and most of projects are really interesting. Plus I essentially get a “new job” every 3-6 months so even a bad project isn’t all that bad.
I was pretty good analytically before consulting and this job has really pushed me to focus on soft skills - which I view as a challenge and am having fun developing.
We don’t have kids so it’s easier for us. Being apart makes us cherish weekends together more. The opportunity to see new places is awesome.
Also, the pay is very good unless I compare our industry with banking or PE.
