For those of you live in states that require job postings to include the salary ranges, what has your experience been with asking and receiving amounts within the range? Is the strategy to ask for the top of the range and let the firm come back with their offer?
I’m looking at a job posting for multiple cities and it lists a range of $132k-253k for Denver and Las Vegas locations. I’m based in San Francisco, so in theory would that put the salary range like $160k-290k?

Curious to know......mostly CO has a salary range. I read all NY job postings will also have a disclosed salary range soon.

The post I’m looking at has Stamford, Hartford, Denver, and Las Vegas. I was only aware of CO having to disclose the ranges, but happy to see that it’s catching on elsewhere

What is the point of making a state post a salary range if the range is $132 - 253? Hell, might as well not even out a range if it’s that big.

I looked up PwC’s posting for senior manager titles and the CO range was ridiculously large. Like $85k-$250k (don’t remember exact numbers). So it’s not helpful at all.
