I enjoy the ability to work on deals while still getting to have a big picture objective in mind. Also enjoy seeing my acquisition come to life after signing.

For me, the variety of work is great - combination of finance and strategy (not all companies will have this though, some are pure project management, some pure finance etc). That's something I enjoy - and the more senior you get the more you start to have to do more than the one thing you might have specialised in (like modelling or market research)

I love it, much better hours than banking and still working on very interesting projects

I'm at a PE portco so we are very acquisitive, constantly looking at deals and refining our build/buy strategy. It is fantastic, IMO.

It’s fantastic. Great combination of big picture and minute detail work. Every deal is slightly different. Good base pay and bonuses tied to deals keeps you hungry to get things done.

A company was ready to extend an offer two weeks ago but no updates yet. Now another recruiter from the same company reached out for a slightly different role. I’m still interviewing with other companies and would be open to learn more. What would be the best practice when it comes to different roles at the same company?

Wanted to get your advice/thoughts.

I'm a non-traditional CD analyst working in a niche industry (gambling)

My experience is as follows: BIG4 Audit > FP&A (CPG) > CD analyst (1 year)

I like my role (sourcing, modelling and strategy integration), however I don't see myself working in this industry long term. Without a generalist IB background, are my chances of transitioning over to a different Industry low? If so, is there anything I can learn or do (excluding IB)?

Thanks

Interviewing for a Director role soon. Wondering how the questions will be? Hi Everyone - Hope you are doing well.

My wife and me just moved to NYC (from Chile). We are trying to find her a Job in NYC, but its been hard through LinkedIn. Do you know any other ways we could try to get at least interviews? She is trying to join a business develop. team, ideally in energy, but obviously opened for other industries as well. She's 5 years of exp. w/ background of M&A in EY and Business development in Energy.

Would appreciate any hints for this!

Thanks in advance!
