FDD manager here. How hard/realistic it is to break into corp dev with the financial due diligence skill sets?

Possible but not as easy of a transition. Previous VP of bus dev at my company was an SM in FDD before joining, but she got canned because it’s much different being in the driver seat and having to do BD.

like

Try rotating to lead advisory for 6 months and you should be able to transition. Have seen other people go this route

like

I feel like FDD is the hardest work.. may be it has been the deals/work environment I am in.

like

Don’t disagree. It is challenging. Corp dev is just broader and works across many other phases of M&A which makes it challenging for someone with just the FDD experience.

like

Think it’s definitely possible but you would need to go down a level (I.e., manager to associate)

I work 2 part-time jobs. I just requested a pay raise at my ABA job which they approved on by 10%. My other job is in Mental Health has a flat rate with no chance to request a raise, turns out I'm not required to work the full 20hrs/Week meaning that when there's no work to complete I won't be getting paid. I've only been here 8months & want to leave as I need the money. Should I start looking elsewhere even if I haven't been here for a year?

Hey ZSers,

I have been selected into ZS for the BTAC role under CCM(Customer-Centric Marketing). My YOE is 3.8 in Cognizant, and the domain is ETL, DW, cloud(AWS).

My question is, ZS is giving a great package compared to what I have in Cognizant (Above 100% hike), and Cognizant is ready to retain me by giving somewhere 50%-60% hike. Will ZS be a good choice for me to switch? In terms of growth, technologies, work, pay. Or should I accept what cognizant is giving and get retained?

Wanted to get your advice/thoughts.

I'm a non-traditional CD analyst working in a niche industry (gambling)

My experience is as follows: BIG4 Audit > FP&A (CPG) > CD analyst (1 year)

I like my role (sourcing, modelling and strategy integration), however I don't see myself working in this industry long term. Without a generalist IB background, are my chances of transitioning over to a different Industry low? If so, is there anything I can learn or do (excluding IB)?

Thanks
