I've been doing all the basic stuff: slashing subscriptions, eating in, going to Costco for most of my groceries to save on bulk pricing. There isn't a whole lot left for me to pare back. I'm continuing to treat applying for jobs as my full time job, but if I don't find something soon, I'll probably start looking at taking on side work as well. I'm not comfortable having no money in for extended periods of time, even with a decent severance package.
I've just been extraordinarily thrifty. I've never been an extravagant spender anyway, so it wasn't too difficult. I never get food delivered, I shop carefully for groceries, I paused or canceled a lot of subscriptions, and so on. You do get to the point where there's not much more to cut, and that's when it gets worrisome. I've still got something to live on, but not having steady money coming in is a huge source of anxiety.
