For those with the CSR card, are you canceling or downgrading? I’ve used no travel benefits this year because of covid and my annual fee hits next month..

Downgraded as the normal chase card improved their benefits. You could always upgrade post pandemic

Try bothering them for a retention offer first.

I kept it since the annual fee was waived back down to $450 for this year. The travel credit works on gas now and the doordash credit is nice for me. Yeah it sucks I'm not using it for anything else but I figured I'll eventually hoard the points for a first class international trip after this pandemic is over.

like

You can also now use points as bill credits (1.5x value, same as travel) so there really hasn’t been much dropoff in card value. Look for “Pay Yourself Back” under the rewards section.

Shit I gotta figure that out too. I got until feb

Look into the new Freedom Unlimited if you're leaning towards downgrading. They refreshed the value prop mid-September with 3% cash back on dining and drug stores and 5% on travel booked through the chase portal. Also comes with a 5% back on groceries for the next 12 months as a sign up offer.

It's a ridiculously rich value prop for a no-fee card, and cashback is king in uncertain times.

like

I just paid this fee last month 😭

$450 - 300 in travel credits (should be fairly easy still) - $60 in DoorDash credits - other perks (DashPass and TSA and Lyft) - can transfer other Chase points to max out 150% redemption bonus = still worth it.

Downgraded to another freedom

I have had the card for 4 years, so I am looking into canceling and then reapplying later. I just don't know if it'll screw me over somehow, like reducing the value of the UR points I have. I have a plain freedom card, so i may transfer the reserve points to freedom and then move them back at a later date.

The CSR $300 travel credit can also be used at gas stations and grocery stores between June 1, 2020 and Dec 31, 2020.

There is a base sapphire with no annual fee that you can downgrade to

Think this consolidation period is going to end in the near term, primarily driven by:

1. Microstrategy “open sourcing” their playbook for purchasing BTC as public company

2. Coinbase to offer staking for ETH in Q1 ‘21 - think how much will get locked up.

3. GME / stonks fallout - retail may moreso see the benefits of decentralization and crypto. Yes Coinbase is CEX to get you onboard, but DEX can’t be turned off.

I'm under contract for a new build in progress that won't be done until much later this year. I fully expect interest rates will be higher than what I originally estimated. I may or may not try to lock in a good rate early, but I'm planning on renting it out and this throws a bit if a wrench in my margins. I can take it financially, but wondering, If I absolutely needed to get out of buying it, what recourse do I have? Or could I go ahead, and refinance later (who knows rates at that time...)?

Hi all, I am trying to DCA bi-weekly into Vanguard ETFs, (VO, VTI etc). It seems like Fidelity does not support auto buying of non-Fidelity ETFs. So I was wondering which of these options you think is best?

1. Open a Vanguard Invest account
2. Look for Fidelity ETFs that are similar to Vanguard ETFs
3. Use smaller brokerages like SoFi l, Robinhood etc.

I really do not want to manage nor be active. My goal is to log-in like once every 6 months.

Thank you all.

Hi guys, I got an offer from x and i discussed that with my current. At 1st current said they can only give 30% increment. I said I can't stay with this cause i got 70% and expect at least 50%(as the 70% included VP and the current org don't have vp, they have bonus). Then they said they can do max 45%. I really wanted to stay here so I said okay to current. Then now hr called me and said they are matching the offer(no vp). What should I make out of it? What made them change their mind?
